Hi! My name is Artem Kvartalnov. I am a third-year Government PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin. I hold BA and MA degrees from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University). Before coming to UT, I worked and interned at PIR Center and UNDP Eurasia. Since 2021, I have been a Member of the German-Russian-American Young Deep Cuts Commission, which focuses on arms control and nuclear disarmament issues.
I am broadly interested in sources of peaceful international orders. My focus areas include third-party reactions to aggression, conceptualizations of the norm against aggression, and relative conflict propensities.
In my spare time, I like hiking and walking. I advocate for free press, peace, public transit, animal rights, and sobriety.
